DIFFERENT SESSION TYPES TO BE PRESENTED AT EIBA 2020

 

In order to give authors an overview over what their respective session type will look like and prospective guests an overview over what to expect, we compile here all information about the 4 main types of sessions at EIBA 2020.

COMPETITIVE SESSIONS

 

Competitive Paper presentations are mostly held in sessions with 3-4 papers each.

 

This provides every author the opportunity to have a 15 minute presentation and 10 minute discussion about their paper. It is up to the track chairs to decide if the discussion is supposed to take place directly after each presentation or jointly at the end of the session.

 

For presenting authors, please be ready to share your presentation as a PowerPoint or PDF file in your online session via Screen Sharing (all participants will see your screen, therefore, we recommend closing any non-essential windows prior to the session). Include a reasonable number of slides (roughly 10 slides). Readability and clear slide layout encourage active engagement.

INTERACTIVE SESSIONS

 

Interactive Paper presentations are held in larger sessions of 4-7 papers in total.

 

The goal of these sessions is to encourage active discussion and development of early-stage work. Therefore, authors should limit their presentation to roughly 7 minutes and leave room for an equally long discussion.

 

Authors do not have to prepare a presentation, but given the digital format this may be helpful. Alternatively, authors can share a hand-out which provides an overview of the paper via Screen Sharing (all participants will see your screen, therefore, we recommend closing any non-essential windows prior to the session). Presentation or hand-out should be easy to grasp and should not require a lot of reading to distract from the actual presentation.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

 

Posters will be presented in a dedicated poster session. This session is designed to push early-stage work towards high-impact contributions. Additionally and to provide the best possible experience to poster presenters, we have secured a large number of senior scholars who agreed to give feedback during the poster session.

 

Each poster session will consist of a virtual overview room, where participants can take a look at each of the different presentations. Furthermore, each poster will be discussed individually in a separate breakout room, where participants may enter to discuss the poster, and leave to go back to the overview room at any time.

 

Authors can also prepare a very short presentation of the project to discuss with viewers in the individual breakout rooms. Presentations will be shared via Screen Sharing (all participants in the room will see your screen, therefore, we recommend closing any non-essential windows prior to the session). The poster should be prepared as an A0 .pdf file, which will be available directly in the browser for the interested audience.

Please send posters to eiba@wu.ac.at. We will upload the posters to the conference system. Please make sure your poster complies with the above guidelines. Please email your poster by December 4, at the latest, and please use the format "Poster: Poster Title" in the subject line.

 

 

PANEL PRESENTATIONS

 

Panel sessions are designed to facilitate discussion between experts in the respective fields and the audience.

 

Panelists should take note of the following guidelines:

• Please make sure to collect and review all presentation decks before coming to EIBA to make sure all panelists get appropriate room for their remarks

• Please be ready to share each presentation via Screen Sharing (all participants will see your screen, therefore, we recommend closing any non-essential windows prior to the session).

• Please allow enough time for open Q&A and address questions that are raised directly or via the built-in live chat function
