To respond to the new situation, the EIBA 2020 annual conference changes, too. First, we run the conference fully online. Second, and partially in response to the shift to online, we adjusted the structure of the conference. The new structure, on the one hand, maintains most elements of a ‘normal’ EIBA conference, such as paper presentations, PDWs, or social interactions. On the other hand, the new digital conference environment creates new value for participants.

The EIBA 2020 conference will work through the conference system provided by OnAIR. This is a similar setup as in the AIB 2020 digital conference. The live conference sessions will connect all participants of a session through a zoom link. An exception are poster and social networking sessions, which will work through a different system (Twilio). All systems will be centrally connected to OnAIR, and all registered participants can join all sessions directly through the OnAIR platform. We will provide access to the conference system on December 7 to all registered participants, to allow some time to get to know the EIBA 2020 digital conference system. On December 9, we will offer dummy sessions of all types (Interactive, Competitive, Poster, Panel, Workshop, Social), which all participants can use to do trial runs of their presentations. Day 1 – December 10th:

PDWs, doctoral workshops, and one opening plenary panel.

Day 2 – December 11th:

Paper presentations (competitive, interactive, poster) and panel sessions as in regular EIBA conferences.

Note that the online format of the sessions is slightly different than the traditional one to assure a high quality standard and a clear value-added for presenters and session guests.

Day 3 – December 12th:

Special workshops on recent topics in IB teaching and research as well as academia in general by experts of the field. Workshops are free to all registered participants and will be partially recorded, so all EIBA registered participants can stream the sessions also at a later point in time.
